Crap and Cake
Romance, Independent, R18
Crap and Cake is a dramatic short film that follows Omar, an aspiring writer caught between ambition, responsibility, and complicated relationships. As he struggles to balance a love triangle, fatherhood, and his own emotional growth, Omar is forced to confront what it truly means to be a Black man trying to build a future in a world that offers few guarantees.
Originally developed as a television pilot, Crap and Cake was later reimagined as a standalone short film, preserving its layered characters, intimate storytelling, and grounded emotional realism.
The film stars Travis Cure (Tyler Perry’s The Oval) as Omar, delivering a raw, nuanced performance that captures the vulnerability and strength of a man at a crossroads. Katoria Chanyasubkit co-stars, bringing emotional depth and complexity to a story about love, self-worth, and survival.
Authentic. Emotional. Unfiltered.
Crap and Cake offers a rare, honest look into Black masculinity, relationships, and the everyday battles that define modern life.
